Role Overview

SME Engineering supports international clients in solving complex technical challenges across transmission networks, renewable energy and BESS integration, and data centre projects.

We are seeking a Principal Power System Engineer to take an active role in both the technical execution of studies and the coordination of project teams, from project initiation through final delivery.

The position is full-time, offered under a permanent employment contract, and can be performed fully remotely from Greece. Annual gross compensation ranges from €60,000 to €75,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical coordination and manage the execution of studies from project initiation through final delivery.
  • Conduct specialised Grid Compliance and Requirements for Generators (RfG) studies.
  • Conduct specialised studies for industrial power systems, including insulation coordination, protection coordination, black-start, and transient stability studies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of team methodologies, automation tools, and internal processes.
  • Communicate directly with clients and support the successful delivery of technically demanding projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in comparable power system studies.
  • Strong proficiency in DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSS®E.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience with PSCAD will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of converter control theory will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with grid-forming technologies and HVDC modelling will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of German will be considered an advantage.
